Where have the images gone?

We were doing an experiment into audio-visual interaction, and this has now stopped as we have enough votes on this issue.

Did I hear the same sound twice?

Possibly. The sounds are played in a random order - there is no fixed start or end to the sequence (though if you allowed us to save a cookie, you shouldn't hear the same sound again straight away).

How many sounds are there?

There are around thirty sounds altogether.

How do I know when I've finished the experiment?

There is no fixed start or end, so you've finished as soon as you feel you've listened to enough horrible sounds.

Why don't all the sounds play?

If you are on dial-up you may need to be a little patient for some of the sounds to download - wait a few seconds before pressing the play button.

If you continue to have problems after waiting a little longer, or are on broadband, please email with brief information about your connection speed (e.g. 58k modem,512k broadband, 1mb broadband), operating system (e.g. Mac OSX, Classic Mac 8/9, Windows XP, Windows 98/95, *nix), and web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, Opera, iCab), and we'll look into it further. It'd also be useful if you can say whether or not you've allowed a cookie to be stored.
